Consort Homes Sponsor Children’s Safety in Cleckheaton >

Consort Homes, Yorkshire’s award winning house builder, has sponsored Cleckheaton’s West End Middle School to receive a valuable safety in schools resource pack for pupils at Key Stage 3. This information forms a key part of the school’s curriculum.

Consort Homes’ sponsorship has provided the school with quality safety literature in the liveliest and most informative children’s safety publications available. Head Teacher, Jeff Moore said: “Consort Homes’ sponsorship has allowed this class to have much needed literature on addressing elements of a child’s personal and social education. Without Consort’s support we would not have been able to afford this literature and we’d like to thank them for their investment.”

The Access Partnership literature gives key facts in a user-friendly fashion by inviting readers to discover more through a fun-filled range of exercises and activities. By using everything from specially commissioned crosswords and word-searches to fascinating classroom discussion topics, the publication offers something for everyone.

The packs cover topics from bullying, safety in the playground, drug issues and abuse and action plans to deal with each of these areas. Also included are games to teach children fire safety and what to do in the event of a fire breaking out at school or home. The helpful pack includes working booklets for the children and posters for the classrooms, and costs about £13 each. Consort Homes has supplied 30 of these booklets to the school.

Consort Homes Managing Director, Darren Stubbs commented: “The approach is a way of involving and enabling young people to tackle crime and community safety issues. The ethos is to allow young people to set their own agenda in trying to address their concerns. This may be about, for example, respect, bullying, drugs or safety, the most important aspect is that young people recognise their responsibility and ability to make a difference.”

Consort Homes decided to sponsor the school as the company is developing in the area. Set in a quiet backwater just off Cleckheaton Town Centre, its new development of just 12 properties is a quite a surprise. Consort Homes has eight 3-bed semi detached properties at £129,950 and four 2-bed apartments at £99,950. All properties include choice of kitchens & tiles. For sales off plan, special incentives should be available dependent upon status. For details of the development call the 24 –hour sales line on Freephone 08000 96 55 66.
