July 2004 - Consort Homes Saves The Day

Award winning Yorkshire house builder Consort Homes (Northern) Ltd rescued Moortown Rugby Club by providing skilled staff to construct the stage for the rugby club’s Annual Fund Raiser. At the eleventh hour the club was let down and had to make a few urgent calls to get the stage built for their five-piece band.

Consort Homes; which have a nearby development at Westbrook Court, Roundhay; were happy to help the club’s fundraiser that was held to generate enough money to buy a mini scrum machine. The event, a Rugby World Cup themed party, was a great success and the band The Solicitors, who had returned from a successful tour of the Far East, were able to play their Northern Soul to pleased crowds on the night.

Consort builders constructed the stage on the Friday night and took it down for the rugby club too. Debbie Sworey, the event organiser, commented: “Consort Homes saved the day for us, if they had not stepped in to help build the stage then we would have had no band and no entertainment. We are very grateful to them for giving their time and workmen to help us like this.”
