June 2004 - Award Wining House Builder Brings Its Unique Style to Scotland

Consort Homes (Northern) Ltd, the award winning Yorkshire house builder, is bringing its successful brand to the Scottish coast. At the end of June, newly formed subsidiary Consort Homes (Scotland) Ltd, will launch its development of quality houses in West Kilbride. Twenty-six detached houses starting around £145,000 will offer luxury living in keeping with this rural and much sought after area.

Consort (Scotland) acquired the plot of land when the company took over emerging Helmsdale Homes. During this merger Consort also secured two of the directors, bringing their valuable 40 years’ experience of the Scottish housing market to Consort. This experience was gained working for Barratt East Scotland and Tay Homes Scotland Ltd.

The new development in West Kilbride has beautiful views over the undulating countryside, and runs along the side of Kilbride Burn, making the area an ideal plot for a superior development of this kind.

"All the elements are in place for Consort to increase its national presence, as Yorkshire’s, and we hope Scotland’s leading housebuilder," declared chairman, Darren Stubbs. "Our newly modified business model and our long-term strategy are positioning Consort for aggressive growth in the near future."

Consort is harnessing the momentum in the marketplace for quality, well built homes, which provide real attention to detail and always have the buyer in mind. An example of this can be seen at Consort’s recent development in Barwick-in-Elmet, Leeds, where the company supplied secure outside plugs to allow buyers to carry on the tradition of placing Christmas trees, covered in twinkling fairy lights, on porches and patios. The company is also capitalising on the robust price rises which have been reported through out the North of England and Scotland; surveyors expect northern regions to show the best price gains over the next few months, according to RICS.
