December 2006 - Where will you be in 2012?

That’s the question posed by Consort Homes’ Chairman Darren Stubbs as he outlined the company’s future to employees of the Leeds based company at a special day at Carden Park Hotel in Cheshire.

The entire staff of the house building company were invited to the day, which commenced with an Olympiad competition. Six teams competed against each other in various events including synchronised swimming (on land!), laser clay shooting, archery, bar-fly bungee, giant table football, assault courses and an X-factor style singing contest.

The activities formed a team building start to the company’s re-brand and re-launch. Citing the 2012 Olympics as an example of how athletes and organisers alike must focus themselves upon the goal of hosting or competing in the London games, Darren was keen to point out that each and every employee required focus and ambition combined with a will to succeed in order to achieve the company’s goal of offering superior homes with innovative and customizable features. This, he said would be the key to competing at the top level in the industry.

In order to create the right impression, Darren also unveiled the company’s new logo to the assembled staff. Designed to echo Consort’s core message, “Live Better” the new logo creates a striking first impression. But Darren was quick to point out that the logo was just an iconic representation of the company. Success, he said, would come from the perception of the company. That in turn is influenced in way that it conducts itself, from the product it builds, to the way it looks after customers before and after purchasing house – right down to the way that the ‘phone is answered. As everybody and everything can communicate the brand values, Darren’s presentation was designed to ensure that everybody understood the path that Consort was taking. He finished by asking everyone to think about where they wanted to be in 2012 and how they were going to achieve both their own and the company’s goals.

Les Everett, a non executive group director took the stage and explained that Darren had experienced a very turbulent two year period in which he had been distracted from running the company. He went on to say that Darren is now revitalised and ready to lead the company into a Gold medal position in the national house building competition in 2012!
