27th September 2007 - Consort Help Pay Off Your Mortgage
Consort Homes, the North’s most innovative home builder, has introduced a money saving deal that could save house buyers more than £13,600, and give them a leg up onto the property ladder.
Buyers of properties on selected Consort plots, including School Lea in Halifax and Blenheim Way in Bradford may be eligible to pay just 2.99% interest on their mortgage for two years, with Consort paying the interest over and above this rate directly to the customer, on a monthly basis.
To make the deal possible, Consort has teamed up with Wakefield-based independent financial advisors Pentyre, who will advise customers of the best fixed-interest rate mortgage available.
Consort will then pay the difference between this rate and the fixed rate of 2.99%.The capped rate is 6.5%. In the event that the fixed interest rate is above 6.5%, the customer will be liable to pay the additional interest on the mortgage, with Consort continuing to pay 3.51%.
On a £200,000 property, with normal repayments at 6.5%, Consort’s contribution amounts to £567 per month, potentially saving customers over £13,600 over the two year period.
In the event of the home-owner selling or re-mortgaging the property, or if the property is re-possessed, Consort will even continue to pay the agreed amount to the customer.
Darren Stubbs, Chairman of Consort Homes, said: “Getting a foot on the housing ladder is particularly difficult at the moment, so we are proud to offer our new homeowners this low rate of interest on their mortgages.
We aim to build communities, and hope that this low interest rate initiative will help both first time buyers and those thinking about selling up and moving on.”
School Lea is located in the Calder Valley’s largest town, Halifax; the commercial and cultural centre for Calderdale. The homes are carefully designed to a unique specification, including a choice of fitted kitchens, three-piece bathroom suite, alarm system and contemporary chrome effect finishing, and are available from only £105,950.
The Blenheim Way development in Bradford offers one and two bedroom apartments, set in a beautifully planned development of apartments and larger houses. Priced from only £124,950, including five per-cent deposit and legal fees paid, carpets included and no stamp duty to pay – and of course the 2.99% mortgage deal – these apartments are perfect for first-time buyers looking to get on the property ladder.
