Consort Homes today hands over £8,139 to Real Radio Appeal for Sheffield Children’s Hospital

Today Phil Lee, Customer Care Manager at Consort Homes, the North’s premier homebuilder, will be handing over a massive £8,139 raised by his successful completion of the New York Marathon to Real Radio’s charity appeal.

The money will contribute towards the outstanding work and care at Sheffield Children’s Hospital, the region’s leading hospital for children.

Phil, together with Sarah Wakefield and Michelle Knight from Real Radio, completed the New York Marathon on 5 November 2006 – with Phil striding to the finish line first in a time of 4.01.37.

Phil said: “The training was tough but well worth it in the end. The generosity of everyone who donated means that the money raised will really make a difference at the Sheffield Childrens Hospital.

“Consort Homes has been really supportive, I even had a training blog recording my trials and tribulations and a fundraising totaliser on the website”

David Vernon-Edwards, Charity Director at Sheffield Children’s Hospital, said: “We are really grateful for the money raised by Phil and the team at Consort. The contribution will help us to purchase patient entertainment systems for the children, which will enable our young patients to access education & entertainment resources at their bedside."

The money raised by Consort Homes will contribute to the Real Radio Appeal which presently totals over £56,000.
